A visual identity was needed for a youth film showcase highlighting the work of 12 local San Diego filmmakers in the “Through Our Lens” fellowship. The films delve into themes (sustainability, civic engagement, environmental awareness, music, dance, and STEAM) that translated the participants’ unique perspectives into visual stories.

approach

The design is simple, with subtle pops of color to reflect the diversity among the filmmkers and directional lines that highlight the growth of their creative journeys while keeping the stories at the center.

Through Our Lens highlights a collaboration between the Media Arts Center San Diego and the San Diego Foundation to showcase youth voices through filmmaking. The project gave students hands-on filmmaking experience while amplifying their perspectives and fostering connection to their communities.
